About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the face of Avantis Investors to the external marketplace of Texas
- Understand and represent Avantis Investors’ investment process and philosophy and American Century’s distinctive story
- Grow assets under management, especially with fee-based RIAs
- Collaborate with internal partners to identify and pursue sales opportunities
- Develop and refine strategic distribution strategy
- Cultivate relationships and build an active pipeline with fee-based advisors nationally
- Influence creation of a consultative, solutions-based sales approach
- Establish a consistent and systematic approach for identifying, prospecting and engaging potential partners
- Partner with product development, marketing and investments to ensure competitive positioning across client and product opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 5 years’ experience selling to sophisticated, fee-based RIA’s, with direct experience and relationships with RIA’s
- Ability to have sophisticated conversations with clients pertaining to portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk management
- Broad-based understanding of general portfolio behavior and capital markets
- Ability to represent Avantis Investors’ differentiated investment philosophy and process in a highly consultative and compelling manner
- Intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and hands-on responsibilities
- Collaborative, team-based sales culture with a proactive mindset
- Bachelor’s degree
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or equivalent as required by state, or ability to attain licenses in a short-term frame
- Ability to travel to client and industry events
- Knowledge of ETF platforms, key decision makers, products and philosophies is highly desirable
- Graduate degree (MBA) and/or related professional designation (CFA, CAIA) is preferred
