About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review patient medical records and abstract data for the AHA-GWTG-AS Registry
  • Apply registry specifications, definitions, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and abstraction guidelines accurately and consistently
  • Interpret clinical documentation related to cardiology procedures, diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, complications, and quality measures
  • Enter accurate and complete data into assigned registry platforms, EHRs, vendor tools, and other data collection systems
  • Maintain abstraction accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail
  • Meet productivity expectations, weekly progress goals, and internal and client deadlines
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including feedback, correction, validation, and IRR reviews
  • Communicate with account leads, team members, and client contacts when clarification is needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with ADN, client, HIPAA, and data security requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Recent AHA-GWTG-Aortic Stenosis Registry abstraction experience
  • Ability to independently abstract AHA-GWTG-AS cases using registry specifications and clinical documentation
  • Strong understanding of healthcare quality reporting, registry abstraction, clinical documentation review, and medical record interpretation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through
  • Comfort working in multiple EHRs, registry platforms, vendor tools, and data collection systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Contractors must have high-speed secure internet, a PC or laptop, and at least two monitors
  • Preferred: experience using the AHA-GWTG-AS application, AHA-GWTG-AS reports, and/or related data collection tools
  • Preferred: experience with IRR, QA review, audit validation, and/or abstraction accuracy review
  • Contractors must be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Must complete an initial phone screen to evaluate qualifications and proof of experience
