About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and update the ADEA Data Portal with external vendors, including adding data years, updating dashboards and the portal website, maintaining functionality, security and privacy, and creating additional dashboards
  • Provide technical assistance to members using the ADEA Data Portal
  • Maintain the ADEA research data platform by uploading data and datasets, ensuring consistency, functionality, and current documentation
  • Conduct data collection through surveys, censuses, administrative data collections, and data scraping
  • Process, validate, and analyze collected data
  • Code and create spreadsheet-based reports and interactive visual reports
  • Work directly with ADEA members to update contacts, distribute data collection tools, facilitate data submission, and correct missing or incorrect data
  • Collaborate with colleagues to automate data collection and processing and create analysis algorithms
  • Communicate issues and suggest solutions
  • Collaborate on cross-functional tasks and projects
  • Follow data privacy policies and comply with data protection regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of professional work experience, including three years of quantitative research, data science and/or database management experience; or a master's degree and three years of relevant experience
  • Python and SQL proficiency
  • Working knowledge of statistics and ETL techniques
  • Familiarity with data management, data cleaning, and data validation processes
  • Ability to keep a variety of tasks on time
  • Attention to detail and meticulous focus on sensitive and time sensitive materials and activities
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and collaborate with vendors, clients and/or members from different backgrounds
  • Must be able to work onsite at ADEA's Washington, D.C. office Monday through Thursday as part of a required hybrid schedule
  • Must complete a take-home coding exercise using Python, SAS, SPSS, or R within 24 hours; access to the software is not provided
  • Higher education research experience in dental education/medical education preferred
  • PowerBI and Qualtrics preferred
