About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate, maintain, repair, alter, and add to data center systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical building systems, furnishings, and site improvements
  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and operation of HVAC equipment, emergency generators, building mechanical and electrical equipment, plumbing equipment, electronic components, and building control systems
  • Identify and quickly repair root causes of facility equipment problems
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and immediately respond to abnormal conditions in facility systems
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs involving drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, windows, and related items
  • Monitor, communicate with, and assist contractors and others performing maintenance, construction, and operations activities
  • Ensure work complies with contracts and company safety, security, environmental, and conduct rules
  • Conduct daily inspections of data center infrastructure equipment
  • Provide systems availability monitoring and reporting
  • Maintain inspection records and submit required reports
  • Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Participate in on-call emergency response and holiday coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Building Maintenance Technician A or at least five (5) years equivalent experience in HVAC or electrical
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Recommended test results from the HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout
  • Must be a licensed electrician, licensed HVAC technician, have a CFC refrigerant certification, or have relevant proven knowledge and performed required duties
  • CRAC technical training/certification from the OEM equipment manufacturer and UPS system training/certification from OEM manufacturers preferred; must be willing to pursue certification
  • Overtime required
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Must participate in an on-call rotation, provide emergency response, and provide holiday coverage as required
  • Shift, evening, and weekend work required
  • Must work indoors and outdoors in all weather
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to utilize a computer
  • Physical demand level: Medium
  • Ability to stand constantly, walk frequently, and occasionally push, pull, lift, climb, squat, and kneel
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment up to and in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights
