About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take a lead role and oversee contractor work on AEP electrical facilities
- Provide leadership support for job coordination and planning, safety, crew critique, employee development, and related tasks
- Inspect and accept or reject contractor work for compliance with safety, design, construction standards, and construction quality
- Ensure contracted construction projects flow smoothly
- Resolve customer concerns associated with contractor-performed work
- Document construction events to protect AEP's interests from future claims
- Ensure contractor invoices are accurate, complete, and reasonable
- Provide contractor performance feedback to Contract Administration
- Certify contractor work acceptability for invoice approval and payment
- Support IFR job inspections and document required design changes
- Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards
- Five years of experience in a related distribution field for Distribution System Inspector Associate
- Minimum two years of experience as a Distribution System Inspector Associate or equivalent related experience for Distribution System Inspector
- Minimum two years of experience as a Distribution System Inspector or equivalent related experience for Distribution System Inspector Senior
- Minimum 10 years of experience in distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards or equivalent related experience, including previous supervisory experience, for Distribution System Inspector Principle
- Good working knowledge of distribution operations activities
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record
- Sedentary physical demand level
