About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate team activities and support Project Managers
  • Perform scheduling and/or commodity tracking for major projects
  • Develop and analyze intermediate and complex scope-of-work schedules
  • Plan, schedule, integrate, baseline, update, maintain, and analyze project schedules
  • Maintain security, reporting, maintenance, daily operation of systems and software, and KPIs for assigned projects
  • Define activities, durations, work sequences, relationship logic, and milestones
  • Ensure all scope and deliverables are accounted for
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze schedules using Primavera, SmartSheet, or similar assigned systems
  • Organize and lead schedule review meetings with stakeholders
  • Prepare meeting minutes and action items
  • Engage teams and stakeholders to create schedules and provide schedule analysis updates
  • Identify schedule risks and issues that may delay milestones
  • Communicate schedule status to project stakeholders
  • Support compliance with AEP project management organizational standards and governance guidance
  • Work with administrators to assign security, profiles, and roles for new users
  • Update progress, acquire information, baseline and maintain schedules, develop commodity curves, track metrics, and support project/outage teams
  • Prepare summary status reports and analyze metrics/KPIs
  • Interface with execution teams, contractors, suppliers, and AEP management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Project Scheduler Associate: High School Diploma and 2 years’ qualified experience, or no experience with a qualified associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Project Scheduler: High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' qualified experience; Associate's degree and 3 years' qualified experience; or Bachelor's degree and 1 year of qualified experience
  • Senior Project Scheduler: High School Diploma/GED and 6 years' qualified experience; Associate's degree and 4 years' qualified experience; or Bachelor's degree and 2 years' qualified experience
  • Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college, including Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management
  • Qualified experience in utility-specific operations, work processes and procedures, design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems or equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to develop complex spreadsheets
  • Ability to manage time effectively, organize and plan, maintain accuracy and attention to detail, and achieve goals
  • Ability to collaborate well with others
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently under general supervision
  • Ability to perform scheduling techniques and analyses
  • Ability to safely perform light physical duties at work sites in varying conditions
  • Availability for travel, including overnight travel; temporary relocation may occasionally be required
  • Availability for overtime, call-out overtime, and shift work as required
  • Proficiency reviewing scope, client requirements, division of responsibility, objectives, and constraints to develop project delivery strategy
  • Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to Ft. Wayne or Michiana Service Center
  • Nuclear positions may involve hazardous areas and radiation exposure within NRC-prescribed limits
  • Applicable site duties may include construction site walkdowns, climbing ladders, and awareness of hazardous conditions
