Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement advanced security architectures for OT systems
Lead security incident response efforts and investigations
Develop and deliver training on OT security best practices
Develop and maintain documentation of security systems, projects, and processes
Plan and implement complex security projects, initiatives, and incidents
Translate and present security topics to team members and AEP leaders
Establish recommendations based on presented options
Present security information clearly and concisely
Collaborate on team learning needs and increase security knowledge
Gather security requirements and identify cost-effective security posture improvements
Research and present new opportunities, ideas, and approaches to improve security posture
Manage time and resources across multiple assignments
Formulate and share work plans to meet security objectives
Communicate Security’s role in Enterprise Security strategies and requirements
Perform vulnerability management, patch management, Active Directory administration, antivirus and endpoint security, firewall ACL management, encryption and certificate management, security logging and alerting, and access/password management
Complete tasks with consideration for risk and impact to SCADA/EMS systems and the Bulk Electric System

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong technical knowledge of OT protocols and security technologies
Must be onsite five days per week at one of the following locations: New Albany, OH; Shreveport, LA; Salem, VA; Corpus Christi, TX
Over-time, on-call assignments, and occasional travel may be required
Minimum of an associate’s degree in an applicable area OR high school diploma/GED and two (2) years of relevant experience in an applicable area or certification in an applicable area
Applicable areas: IT/OT System Administration, IT/OT Application Support, Cyber Security, ADMS/DMS/EMS/OMS/SCADA
Four (4) years of relevant experience in a related role for RT Ops Security Spec Sr
Eight (8) years of domain experience in a related role for RT Ops Security Spec Prin, typically including at least seven (7) years in cyber security with significant OT security experience
CISSP or other Security certification preferred
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; advanced degree an added plus
