About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic leadership and guidance to Transmission and Telecom management on GIS technologies, spatial data, analytics, business processes, operational efficiency, and asset management
- Develop and execute GIS data strategies for accuracy, accessibility, security, effective delivery, and risk reduction
- Integrate GIS capabilities into daily business operations, streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve organizational performance
- Lead enterprise data integration initiatives across multiple systems to create centralized, reliable data resources
- Communicate technical concepts and business impacts to executives, operational leaders, and stakeholders
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and GIS innovations for Transmission and Telecom operations
- Promote safe excavation and damage prevention programs with stakeholders, contractors, and external agencies
- Establish and maintain GIS and asset data governance standards
- Lead and develop GIS personnel and resources
- Support reliability initiatives with spatial data, analytics, and visualization tools for situational awareness, asset management, outage response, and infrastructure planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering or GIS mapping, or an associate degree in a related discipline and 2 years of experience in a GIS-related field, or a high school diploma and 4 years' experience in a GIS-related field
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in Transmission and/or Telecom-related activities in addition to the stated education/experience pathway
- 5 years of supervisory/management experience
- Valid state driver's license
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Ability to field review distribution facilities
- Willingness to travel
- Some overtime required
- Physical demand level: Sedentary
