About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership support to assist the Contract Coordination Supervisor with job coordination/planning, safety, crew critique, employee development, or other tasks as needed
- Inspect and accept or reject contractor work for compliance to safety, design and construction standards and construction quality
- Assure contracted construction projects flow smoothly
- Resolve customer's concerns associated with work performed by contractors
- Document construction events to protect AEP's interest from future claims
- Assure contractor invoices are accurate, complete and reasonable
- Provide feedback concerning contractor performance to Contract Administration for use in future contracting activities
- Certify acceptability of contractor's work for invoice approval and payment
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED plus a two year' technical degree or 5 yrs distribution construction experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards
- Minimum two years' experience as a Distribution System Inspector or equivalent related experience
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record
- Physical demand level is Sedentary
- Top step of progression in job family, typically reserved for proven leaders who can multi-task and manage multiple duties and responsibilities
- Increased educational, skill or experience requirements apply to the principal level
