About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for transmission substation equipment and systems
  • Assist field personnel with troubleshooting, equipment failures, abnormal conditions, and condition assessments
  • Develop practical solutions considering safety, reliability, constructability, and maintainability
  • Support station documentation, equipment configuration, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in project scoping, design reviews, walkdowns, commissioning, and closeout
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, P&C, Operations, contractors, and field personnel
  • Provide technical oversight and review commissioning test results
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Evaluate equipment deficiencies and recurring reliability concerns
  • Support failure investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Assist with maintenance and equipment replacement planning
  • Support outage and emergency restoration activities
  • Provide engineering support for mobile transformer and skid installations
  • Prepare routine project planning documents, monitor project status, and recommend actions
  • Assist with reports, technical papers, and routine engineering analyses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Entry-level position for new graduates
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred
  • Familiarity with standards, codes, regulations, equipment, materials, systems, and business processes
  • Ability to apply engineering theory to solve well-defined problems and perform basic technical analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prepare reports and technical papers
  • Ability to work with others and participate in team decision-making
  • Understanding of scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates using established standards
  • Willingness and capability to assume leadership roles
