Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform intermediate-level engineering work activities and projects
  • Support Station or Protection and Controls engineering functions
  • Apply engineering knowledge to accomplish assigned objectives safely, effectively, efficiently, and economically
  • Perform technical analysis and solve routine and moderately complex problems
  • Analyze interrelationships between systems and component equipment
  • Recommend enhancements to business processes
  • Coordinate work activities within the work group, department, or corporate entity
  • Perform routine engineering activities with minimal direction
  • Train and guide lower-level employees
  • Coordinate inputs for routine project cost forecasts and improvement requisitions
  • Use CPM, PERT, and flow charts for scheduling, budgeting, and planning
  • Initiate corrective action when project objectives are not being met
  • Develop, review, and present technical reports, studies, and analyses
  • Network with peers and stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and build consensus
  • Make team-impacting decisions within established policies and procedures
  • Apply economic analysis techniques and develop understanding of utility regulation and financing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Entry-level position for new graduates
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred
  • Ability to apply engineering theory and analytical techniques
  • Ability to analyze and solve diverse and moderately complex problems
  • Ability to understand interrelationships between systems and component equipment
  • Ability to analyze and recommend business process enhancements
  • Ability to coordinate work activities and provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
  • Knowledge of scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts
  • Ability to forecast project costs and initiate corrective action
  • Ability to develop, review, and present technical reports
  • Understanding of budgeting and approval processes
  • Proficiency in economic analysis techniques
  • Understanding of utility regulation and financing
  • Must follow company policies and external agency regulations
