About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create detailed construction plans and sequences for capital projects
  • Research project scopes thoroughly
  • Collaborate with Energy Delivery Construction Management, Energy Delivery Project Management, Transmission & Distribution Operations, Transmission and Distribution Planning, Transmission Engineering, and Transmission Field Services
  • Manage a comprehensive portfolio of assigned projects
  • Optimize outages and streamline construction sequences
  • Alert the project management team to risks or issues that could delay milestones or in-service dates
  • Develop safe, efficient, and economical construction sequences
  • Read P6 schedules to ensure construction plans can be executed as scheduled
  • Support project prioritization and resolve conflicting outages
  • Manage construction plans for multiple capital projects simultaneously
  • Participate in reviews with TFS Work Scheduling Teams to optimize outages between capital and non-capital/maintenance projects
  • Organize and lead construction plan review meetings
  • Promote an all-inclusive culture of excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field with 8 years of applicable or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology or ABET-accredited Engineering Technology with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Associate degree in Construction Management Technology or ABET-accredited Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field with 10 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED with 12–14 years of relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of the Bulk Electric System
  • Experience in Construction Management, Transmission Engineering, Transmission Operations, Distribution Operations, or related technical areas
  • Candidates must have a technical background in the listed areas
  • Strong computer skills and ability to provide business-specific reports
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel, strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line station diagrams and transmission line switching diagrams
  • Aptitude to understand switching, tagging, and clearance points
  • Clear understanding of minimum approach distances
  • Ability to lead development and communication of complex outage sequences
  • Knowledge of P&C zones of protection strongly preferred
  • Ability to interact with and maintain working relationships with diverse teams
  • Must be inquisitive, analytical, and a team player
