Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide construction site management for transmission station and line construction across the master project portfolio
  • Oversee construction projects for compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Provide project quality assurance and quality control oversight
  • Provide construction progress updates to project teams
  • Oversee OSHA compliance, conduct site safety observations, and document findings
  • Conduct meetings establishing safety and environmental expectations for site crews
  • Coordinate with environmental teams and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental policies, SWPPP, and permits
  • Coordinate with Right-of-Way and Siting teams on landowner and governmental agreements
  • Ensure permits for crossings, ROW clearing, access roads, and related work are obtained and properly closed
  • Provide construction expertise for engineered designs and review project documents and drawings
  • Resolve construction, material, and engineering issues during construction
  • Submit Field Mark Prints reflecting as-built installations
  • Participate in lessons learned, issue, and best-practice reviews during project closeout
  • Develop material and equipment strategic plans and oversee ordering, delivery, receipt, inventory, storage, handling, and installation
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and laydown yards on materials and equipment
  • Collaborate with Outage Planning on outage schedules and sequences
  • Oversee operating orders, clearances, contractor work plans, and outage safety
  • Coordinate contractor, inspection, manufacturer, testing, commissioning, internal, and external resources
  • Provide technical guidance to company and contractor resources
  • Provide in-service notifications for timely accounting of project assets
  • Complete compliance attestations for Most Limiting Series Elements
  • Complete Construction Management portions of Capital Commissioning Checklists
  • Evaluate project estimates and bids, approve contractor timesheets, and assist with invoice validation
  • Oversee contractor resources during storm restoration and emergency failures
  • Coach and guide lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives
  • Participate in developing and delivering training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Science with emphasis on project/construction management, or bachelor's degree in construction technology, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related technology field, with a minimum of 6 years of project/construction management work experience
  • OR associate degree in Construction Management Technology, Project Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related technology field, with 8 years' work experience in the electric industry or project/construction management/oversight
  • OR high school graduate or equivalent with 10 years' related experience in the electric industry or project management/oversight
  • Up to 20% travel to job sites
  • Civil and Electrical Construction experience preferred
  • Flexibility on work schedule, including weekends
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, GIS, PDF editor, Smartsheet, scheduling software, and mobile devices/tablets/phones
  • Ability to read and interpret civil grading drawings, grounding and foundation drawings, conduit/cable schedules and wiring diagrams, electrical assembly drawings, one-lines, switching diagrams, bus wiring diagrams, steel drawings, PNP drawings, manufacturer's drawings, SWPPP, and related project documents
