About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Construction Management related to Transmission Line and Transmission/Distribution Station construction
  • Liaise between Construction Management and Transmission Field Services, Project Management, Transmission Engineering, and other business groups
  • Attend project kick-off, engineering scoping site, pre-bid, pre-construction, Planning for Safety Expectation, and monthly project update meetings
  • Identify risks involving safety, construction schedules, budgets, materials, contractor workforce, and recommend mitigation plans
  • Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced Transmission Construction Representatives
  • Deliver Construction Management presentations and training
  • Coordinate with Safety Advisor to recommend safe work practices and mitigation plans
  • Coordinate with Environmental Department to proactively mitigate construction-related environmental issues
  • Coordinate and lead Construction Management efforts during major storm restoration and emergency failures
  • Participate in developing, reviewing, and delivering Construction Management Core Block Training
  • Use technical tools and applications, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, GIS, PDF editors, Smartsheet, and scheduling software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management science, construction technology, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related technology field, with required experience depending on level
  • Associate degree in Construction Management Technology, Project Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related technology field, with required experience depending on level
  • High School graduate or equivalent, with required related experience depending on level
  • SG7: minimum 2 years of project/construction management work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 4 years with an associate degree, or 6 years related experience with a high school diploma
  • SG8: minimum 6 years of project/construction management work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8 years with an associate degree, or 10 years related experience with a high school diploma
  • SG9: minimum 8 years of project/construction management work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10 years with an associate degree, or 12 years related experience with a high school diploma
  • Experience in the electric industry or project/construction management/oversight, as applicable
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, GIS, PDF editors, Smartsheet, scheduling software, and mobile devices
  • Ability to work on site in Tulsa or McAlester, Oklahoma
