About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create detailed construction plans and sequences for capital projects
- Research project scopes and collaborate with project stakeholders
- Manage a comprehensive portfolio of assigned projects
- Develop safe, efficient, and economical construction sequences
- Alert project management teams to risks or issues that could delay milestones or in-service dates
- Apply technical knowledge of transmission and distribution facility construction, project management and scheduling, and station/T-line/protection and control engineering
- Read P6 schedules to ensure construction plans can be executed as scheduled
- Prioritize projects and resolve conflicting outages
- Manage construction plans for multiple capital projects simultaneously
- Participate in reviews with TFS Work Scheduling Teams to optimize outages
- Organize and lead construction plan review meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Business, or related field with 8–10 years of relevant experience, OR associate degree with 10–12 years of relevant experience, OR high school diploma/GED with 12–14 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of the Bulk Electric System
- Experience in Construction Management, Transmission Engineering, Transmission Operations, or Distribution Operations
- Strong computer skills and ability to provide business-specific reports
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint/Excel) experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret one-line station diagrams and transmission line switching diagrams
- Aptitude to understand switching, tagging, and clearance points
- Clear understanding of minimum approach distances
- Ability to lead development and communication of complex outage sequences
- Knowledge of P&C zones of protection strongly preferred
- Technical background in applicable areas; candidates without one will not be considered
- Ability to interact with and maintain working relationships with diverse teams
