About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate the origin and cause of homeowner property claims
- Contact insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation units, adjusters and public personnel
- Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed
- Handle 1st-party and 3rd-party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements
- Conduct on-site inspections and evaluate damages
- Negotiate claims with insureds, claimants, attorneys and public adjusters
- Respond to customer inquiries, make decisions and close files
- Interpret policies, leases, bylaws, declarations, articles and contract coverages
- Provide parties with claim process and status updates
- Answer questions or redirect inquiries to appropriate areas
- Complete other assignments and participate in projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be located within the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area, North Carolina
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or equivalent knowledge
- Solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or equivalent knowledge
- Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record
- Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to perform catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable
- Ability to work in outdoor, hazardous, noisy, poorly ventilated, low- or high-temperature, small and/or enclosed spaces
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and similar structures
- Ability to move in different positions and adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Property field claims adjusting and Xactimate estimate writing experience preferred
