About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide operational leadership for key Climate and Soil Health Program priorities
  • Manage outreach, communications, stakeholder engagement, and resource dissemination
  • Coordinate cross-functional implementation activities and funded project outcomes
  • Lead program outreach and metrics tracking
  • Manage rollout and maintenance of the virtual network platform and microsites
  • Manage communications, stakeholder engagement, and operational priorities across the portfolio
  • Coordinate educational resources, events, partner engagement, financial management, and funder and impact reporting
  • Manage partners, stakeholders, and AFT staff to achieve funded goals and deliverables
  • Lead assigned workstreams and project deliverables
  • Collect, organize, track, document, and report project outcomes, metrics, partner contributions, and deliverables
  • Coordinate on-farm demonstration trials, implementation activities, trainings, networks, and resource creation
  • Develop, review, publish, and disseminate science-based resources including website content, curricula, presentations, reports, white papers, and decision-support tools
  • Represent AFT at conferences, trainings, meetings, and cross-organizational events
  • Develop and manage an external advisory committee
  • Support external partnership development with agricultural and conservation professionals and funders
  • Identify barriers to program goals and develop collaborative solutions
  • Support workplans, budgets, timelines, invoicing, contracts, partner payments, and funder compliance
  • Support fundraising through partner engagement, proposal development, resource compilation, metrics, and success stories

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Policy, or Conservation field required
  • 5+ years of experience working in interdisciplinary programming
  • 3+ years of experience in program or project management, particularly in soil health and/or agricultural fields
  • Demonstrated success coordinating complex projects or workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and communications streams
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and executing outreach, communications, educational programming, producer engagement, or similar implementation-focused activities
  • Familiarity with budget management, state and federal grant management processes, contracting procedures and compliance, and accountability systems
  • Timely, effective, and responsive verbal and written interpersonal communication
  • Ability to motivate internal/external team members in a highly matrixed and/or remote environment
  • Self-driven, organized, systematic problem-solver able to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with agriculture, grazing, soil health, regenerative practices, climate resilience, renewable energy, or carbon sequestration, or desire to learn
  • Experience managing outreach, communications, educational programming, producer engagement, stakeholder networks, or partner relationships
  • Commitment to expanding access to resources and support among underserved farming communities
