About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, update, and refresh communications materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency across print and digital assets
- Design one-pagers, social graphics, slide templates, and toolkits supporting Voices for Healthy Kids advocacy and outreach efforts
- Ensure materials align with Voices for Healthy Kids brand guidelines, visual identity, tone, and messaging
- Support layout and design work using established templates and brand standards
- Fact-check language, data points, and citations for accuracy and research grounding
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to refine content and support timely project updates
- Gain practical job skills in a non-profit environment
- Support national advocacy efforts to improve child and family health
Requirements
What you’ll need- College seniors and graduate students pursuing a degree in public policy, communications, public relations, public health, journalism, or related fields
- Experience in public policy and/or an interest in non-profit and health care communications is strongly preferred
- Strong communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, and follow-through
- Interest in translating complex information into clear, easy-to-understand content for different audiences
- Proficiency in Canva and other tools used to create clear, engaging communications materials
- Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Reliable Wi-Fi connection
- Minimum availability of 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future
- Remote work must be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country
