About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct impact litigation, including class actions and other affirmative lawsuits against immigration agencies
- Appear as amicus curiae in cases before federal courts and administrative tribunals
- File and litigate Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
- Engage in administrative advocacy
- Issue practice advisories and other resources for immigration lawyers
- Perform legal research
- Draft research memos, pleadings, briefs, and practice advisories
- Review and summarize documents
- Cite-check legal pleadings
- Participate in discussions about ongoing and developing litigation
- Potentially assist with client calls and plaintiff screenings

Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified law student
- Must be funded externally or receive academic credit for the internship
- Strong research and writing skills
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and immigrant rights
- Dynamic and self-directed
- Prior immigration law or advocacy experience, coursework, or clinical experience preferred
- Submit a resume, cover letter, and writing sample
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Benefits
Comp & perks- Externally funded internship or academic credit opportunity
- Internship is unpaid; no salary or stipend provided
- 37.5 hours per week for a minimum of eight weeks in summer 2027
