About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work independently or as part of a crew under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Site-Lead
  • Pull, terminate, and test copper and fiber cable
  • Install cable tray and other cable support hardware
  • Demonstrate proper cable installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation procedures to team members
  • Generate equipment lists and bills of material
  • Interface with customers as required on a day-to-day basis
  • Inform the Project Manager of potential problems or scope changes
  • Read blueprints and cut-sheets
  • Generate test reports and as-builts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years structured cabling experience
  • High School plus advanced training
  • BICSI Certifications are a plus but not required
  • Security Clearance is a plus but not required
  • US Citizenship is required for access to buildings and installations
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, punch tools, test equipment, hammer drills, and saws
  • Proficient in copper and fiber cable, termination hardware, and testing procedures
  • Working knowledge of STAR, BUS, and RING cable plant configurations
  • Working knowledge of ETHERNET, TOKEN-RING, and FDDI network configurations
  • Working knowledge of EIA/TIA requirements, including distance limitations and pin configurations
  • Capable of reading blueprints and cut-sheets and generating test reports and as-builts
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work overhead reach for extended periods, and work on hands and knees
  • Ability to communicate well in English, verbally and in writing
