About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support for enterprise-level Linux-based systems
- Assist with installation, configuration, testing, and management of operating systems, hardware, and software
- Assist in installing, upgrading, patching, managing, and monitoring mostly RHEL Linux systems
- Configure, manage, upgrade, and patch Red Hat Satellite servers and package repositories
- Provide end-user and application-user support through incident management
- Assist with compliance audits on production systems during patch cycles and interface with the Change Advisory Board as needed
- Use SolarWinds Orion and Splunk for real-time monitoring and alerting
- Assist with setting up IDM, Ansible, baseline OS images and locations, and MFA on Red Hat Linux
- Assist in addressing vulnerabilities identified through compliance scans
- Assist in ensuring Critical Infrastructure Protection compliance for servers in an air-gapped environment
- Provide legacy support for applications running on older RHEL versions
- Assist with certificate management and deployment for services
- Update FISMA information for compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizen required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust (Tier 4)
- Strong understanding of Linux operating system, including command line interface and basic networking concepts
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must possess a valid state driver's license; may be required to travel between customer sites
- Must be able to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL ID compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved document from the GSA Required Identification List
