About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with growth initiatives targeting the US Air Force
  • Report directly to the Director of Accounts and serve as a corporate representative to the Air Force market
  • Drive strategy and pipeline development to win new business
  • Assist in developing and executing account strategies and pipelines with Business Area and Portfolio leads
  • Develop go-to-market and market penetration strategies to deepen customer relationships and grow the business base
  • Cultivate relationships with strategic partners, OEMs, trade associations, and small businesses
  • Coordinate communications and meetings involving strategy development, pipeline discussions, opportunity assessments, and reviews
  • Develop and maintain customer and industry relationships to gain intelligence and position AMERICAN SYSTEMS as a trusted partner
  • Identify and manage key partner and teammate relationships to enhance PWin and growth potential
  • Establish customer interfaces and deliver messaging through various communication channels
  • Create an industry events calendar and manage participation and customer engagement
  • Support opportunity identification, pursuit, and pipeline management
  • Identify, analyze, and qualify high-PWin opportunities
  • Respond to government market research inquiries, attend industry events, and participate in thought leadership initiatives
  • Oversee customer stakeholder maps and customer call plans; assess competitors and develop differentiated win strategies throughout the BD/opportunity lifecycle
  • Understand acquisition cycles and leverage long-range forecasts for planning
  • Develop and brief bid review presentations, pursuit plans, and business cases
  • Assist Capture and Proposal Managers with capture and proposal readiness
  • Help secure teaming agreements
  • Support capture and proposal activities through color reviews and other meetings to ensure the voice of the customer is captured

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; scientific, engineering, or business disciplines preferred
  • Advanced degree highly desired
  • Previous experience in an Air Force leadership position at the Group level or above; command experience highly desired
  • Operational Air Force experience in a rated career field (e.g., pilot, CSO/WSO, or related aircrew roles) desired
  • Current understanding of Air Force acquisition processes, priorities, and strategic direction, including how the AF is procuring services and mission solutions
  • Experience developing qualified pipelines and winning new business
  • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, government contracting policies, and key AF/DoD contract vehicles
  • Awareness of current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
  • Experience supporting SAP and/or SCI programs
  • Knowledge of leading partners and competitors in the market
  • Ability to manage multiple customer relationships to maximize business opportunities
  • Demonstrated success identifying, qualifying, and helping organizations win contracts exceeding $50M
  • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company’s growth strategy and campaigns
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively at senior levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to leverage technology and tools related to customer relationship management, pipeline management, market intelligence, and business analytics
  • Top Secret clearance required
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time or as business dictates
