About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide guidance and expertise in mechanical engineering for complex mechanical equipment and systems
- Investigate, evaluate, and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems
- Apply advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques
- Estimate manpower and material requirements for assigned tasks
- Prepare task schedules
- Supervise and coordinate technicians fabricating and installing complex mechanical and related electronic equipment and systems
- Direct field operation and maintenance activities when required
- Evaluate operational systems and design modifications to eliminate malfunctions or address changing requirements
- Develop original applications and complex test procedures for equipment and systems
- Plan, organize, and conduct assignment development
- Coordinate manpower and activities across program stages for effective integration
- Provide technical guidance on design fabrication drawings
- Review and correct drawings for engineering techniques and specifications
- Develop, release, and maintain documentation according to company and contractual requirements
- Review, write, and edit evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and related reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or Computer Science
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required for obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Five years of experience with ship alterations engineering requirements
- Seven years of collective experience in modeling and simulation of new designs and facilitating changes to existing designs using CAD and CAM tools and software
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
- Experience with Weight & Moment analysis
- Experience with Static analysis
- Experience with commercial and military specification material selection
- Experience with materials alternatives analysis
