About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply systems engineering processes to the analysis, planning, development, verification, deployment, and documentation of modern mission planning software
Analyze current and next-generation mission operation domains and translate them into requirements and system views using MBSE
Collaborate with leadership, engineers, vendors, and software project leads in a large-scale Agile SAFe workflow to evolve user requirements into mission-planning solutions
Participate in or lead working groups addressing system safety, certification, cyber, and software security requirements and documentation
Lead or participate in risk management tracking and mitigation
Coordinate test and evaluation activities to ensure solutions are verified and validated
Lead action teams including SMEs, engineers, vendors, and operators to address engineering and software challenges
Assist with vendor tasking, guidance, technical SOW development, TIMs, PMRs, and CDRL reviews
Advise NAVAIR executives, managers, and supervisors on systems engineering and digital engineering policy and guidance
Support project planning and technical cost estimates
Author reports, provide progress reviews, and brief senior NAVAIR leadership on status and technical analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; or technical/scientific degree with systems engineering experience on DoD program(s)
Junior or Journey level experience working engineering activities for a technology program
Must have a DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret if necessary
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to travel within CONUS up to 6 times per year
Local to Pax River, NAS and able to make scheduled and ad hoc meetings in person
Experience with working software development and sustainment programs is enhancing but not required
Experience with working DoD acquisition programs is enhancing but not required
Experience as a military aviator or serving in the Navy or Marine Corps is enhancing but not required
Experience generating system requirements is enhancing but not required
Experience with DoD mission planning is enhancing but not required
Producing and using Model Based Systems Engineering artifacts is enhancing but not required
Agile or Agile SAFe processes experience is enhancing but not required
