About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems
  • Participate in ground and flight testing of developed systems
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics
  • Confer with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers, and others to design systems and obtain project information
  • Integrate hardware and software in the System Integration Lab (SIL)
  • Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework
  • Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment
  • Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C
  • Ensure software standards within the AS9100D quality management system are met
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to create mission-critical solutions for naval aviation and defense operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science Required
  • MS Computer Engineering Preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the field of aircraft avionics
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience with a Real Time Operating System
  • Active DoD Secret security Clearance
  • Experience developing avionics software in a hard real-time environment
  • Experience developing avionics software in accordance with DO-178C
  • Knowledge of AS9100D quality management system standards
