About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirement
- Perform root cause analysis of system/component issues and failures
- Research and review ship structural and electrical drawings to support system integration
- Create 2D and 3D models and draft mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Develop prototypes
- Inspect and accept material received from procurement or fabrication
- Support factory acceptance testing
- Support technical data package development, including Temporary Alterations (TEMPALT)
- Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklists
- Conduct ship checks and fit checks of submarines
- Support system testing and documentation, including EMI/EMC and cybersecurity/information assurance
- Support fleet troubleshooting efforts
- Support creation of departures from specification (DFS)
- Engage with traditional and Agile project management and systems engineering processes
- Identify and remove workflow obstacles
- Support presentations and briefings to stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills; team player
- Ability to meet deadlines on assigned tasks and responsibilities
- Multitask-oriented and capable of prioritizing
