About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership and guidance to veterinary practices when a practice manager vacancy exists.
- Provide structure and leadership and focus on change management to develop and lead practice teams.
- Work with the Regional Director of Operations to recruit and onboard permanent practice managers.
- Serve in typical 60–90 day placements while permanent managers are hired and onboarded.
- Manage day-to-day hospital operations at assigned locations.
- Serve as liaison between hospital teams and corporate support functions including marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, and finance.
- Recruit, develop, discipline, and terminate paraprofessional staff, including conducting annual performance reviews.
- Oversee hospital P&L, accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory.
- Resolve client issues and escalations and oversee follow-up communications.
- Partner with the Regional Director of Operations on assigned special projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior veterinary experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
- Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong people skills/emotional intelligence.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and chip in to help the team.
- Able to travel between assigned clinics and adapt to a variety of practice environments.
- Able to support various clinics within the UrgentVet network.
- Full-time corporate position reporting to the Vice President of Operations.
