Define and drive technology strategy aligned with Investments business goals
Identify value-creation opportunities through cloud-native architecture, data enablement, and full-stack engineering
Remain hands-on in Java and Python while setting standards for code quality, architecture, resilience, and cost efficiency
Design and implement critical engineering components
Lead AWS-based initiatives for investment analytics, reporting, modeling, data ingestion, processing, and visualization
Identify, prototype, and productionise Generative AI use cases in investment workflows
Establish AI guardrails and evaluate cost and latency trade-offs
Translate investment-domain problems into actionable engineering solutions
Oversee decision-logic systems supporting investment decisions and portfolio management
Ensure timely, high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives in a matrixed environment
Engage senior technology and business leaders on strategy, architecture, and delivery
Build and nurture a high-performing global engineering team
Lead performance management, coaching, recruitment, and talent development
Partner with analytics, product, and business teams to co-create solutions
Lead and contribute to front-end, back-end, and data-layer development
Optimize AWS usage for performance and cost efficiency
Apply investment products, portfolio analytics, and financial advisory expertise to technology decisions
Build operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools with data science and analytics teams
Communicate technical strategies and analytical findings to senior leadership
Lead strategic cross-functional transformation initiatives with measurable outcomes
Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, data governance, and software development lifecycle standards
Provide direction and mentorship to distributed teams across geographies and time zones

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering
At least 5–7 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams while remaining hands-on in code and architecture
Strong hands-on command of Java and Python
Proven full-stack development experience, including React, Angular, Java, Node.js, Python, SQL, and NoSQL
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Platform, including EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, RDS, ECS, and CloudFormation
Understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices
Demonstrated experience designing and deploying Generative AI solutions using LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Amazon Bedrock
Familiarity with GenAI use cases in financial services
Solid understanding of Investments Technology, financial advisory platforms, portfolio management systems, trading workflows, and investment analytics
Experience working with financial data, modeling, and reporting in regulated environments
Familiarity with financial products and investment lifecycle processes
Ability to define and execute technology strategy aligned with business goals
Experience leading global, cross-functional engineering teams, including mentoring, performance management, and talent development
Proven record delivering complex strategic initiatives in a matrixed organization
Ability to engage senior technology and business stakeholders in detailed technical and strategic discussions
Strong analytical mindset with experience in data enablement, metrics development, and predictive modeling
Ability to translate technical concepts into business-relevant insights
Experience collaborating with analytics, product, and business teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
