About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities to support project schedules and budgets
  • Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with emphasis on safety
  • Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions
  • Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors
  • Monitor project progress and prepare daily reports, quantities, and documentation
  • Perform quality control inspections for compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications
  • Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper PPE use
  • Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and stakeholder coordination
  • Assist communication between field teams, project management, owners, and inspectors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules
  • Work primarily on active construction job sites
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and lift in a construction environment
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to travel between job sites as required
