About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform field-level testing, inspection, and documentation to ensure construction activities meet contract specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards
- Work directly with the Quality Control Manager on site
- Document daily QC activities, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Verify materials and workmanship comply with contract plans and specifications before and during installation
- Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to identify and resolve field quality issues
- Maintain QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for project records and closeout
- Support internal and external audits, including owner and regulatory inspections
- Track and report non-conforming work items through resolution
- Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP)
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–4 years of experience in construction quality control, materials testing, or a related field role
- Working knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards for soils, concrete, and aggregates
- Strong written documentation and reporting skills
- Proficiency with QC software/documentation systems such as QCS, Procore, or similar
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to travel within the United States as required
- Ability to work on active construction job sites
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and lift in a construction environment
- Ability to interact safely with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards
- Strict adherence to safety protocols
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all job sites
- Ability to work in an office environment with extensive sitting at a desk and computer
- Ability to occasionally lift 5–20 pounds
