Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders within Amgen's Finance organization
  • Partner directly with the Senior Vice President and Finance leadership team to drive business performance through people, organization, and culture
  • Align people strategies with business objectives, organizational priorities, and long-term workforce plans
  • Coach senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, team performance, and talent-related decisions
  • Translate business strategy into actionable talent and organizational initiatives
  • Lead organizational design, operating model evolution, workforce planning, and change management initiatives
  • Support complex organizational changes including restructuring, role optimization, capability building, and business transformation
  • Assess organizational health and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, agility, and employee experience
  • Drive talent review, succession planning, and leadership development processes
  • Identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent and critical capabilities
  • Foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, innovation, and inclusion
  • Use workforce analytics, talent data, and organizational insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to talent, engagement, attrition, capability gaps, and organizational performance
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to attract top talent for critical leadership and professional roles
  • Drive strategic workforce planning and support internal mobility and career development strategies
  • Collaborate across HR and business functions to deliver integrated people solutions
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide HR initiatives, talent strategies, and transformation efforts
  • Mentor and develop HR colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience OR Master’s degree and 7 years of Human Resources experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of Human Resources experience
  • MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in organizational development, management, human resources, employee/labor relations, or equivalent preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast paced, rapidly changing, high technical or pharmaceutical biotech environment
  • 3+ years of similar HRBP experience with proven success at the Director level
  • Experience supporting Finance, Corporate Functions, Accounting, Audit, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, or shared service organizations
  • Demonstrated success partnering with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams in complex global organizations
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, workforce planning, and operating model redesign initiatives
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience utilizing talent analytics and workforce data to influence executive decision-making
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate highly matrixed environments
  • Experience supporting global organizations across multiple geographies and cultures
  • Broad understanding of all human resources components
  • Sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to Human Resources
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and adapt to changing demands
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and executives
  • Ability to partner well with other HR and business functions
