About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the field-based medical expert for the New Jersey territory within the MSL group
- Communicate accurate, clear, and valued information regarding Amgen’s science and products to the medical community
- Report field observations to internal stakeholders
- Support Scientific Engagement Plan (SEP) development of local territory R&D tactics
- Engage and educate healthcare stakeholders, including APPs, fellows, and residents, using clinical and scientific data
- Communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key stakeholders, advocacy, and access enablers
- Provide clinical and pharmacoeconomic support to payers, IDNs, and formulary committees
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries in compliance with MSL standards
- Execute the scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics
- Develop and implement local opinion leader plans
- Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data
- Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially serve as a study lead
- Liaise with investigators and facilitate investigator-initiated research proposals
- Lead or participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics
- Lead and support congress activities
- Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional colleagues
- Maintain clinical acumen and complete assigned training
- Advance the MSL value proposition and demonstrate Amgen values and leadership attributes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
- Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
- Preferred: Two years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Preferred: Managed market/payer/IDN engagement experience
- Preferred: Two or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research
- Preferred: Experience in a medically related field can include post-doctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships)
- Preferred: Osteoporosis and Bone Health Therapeutic area expertise
- Sponsorship for this role is not guaranteed
