About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Interact with Oncology Healthcare Decision Makers to communicate and advance Amgen’s scientific platform, particularly in prostate cancer
  • Communicate complex scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers, including those at Academic Medical Centers
  • Conduct clinical and pharmacoeconomic value discussions with payers and formulary decision makers
  • Identify and train members of Amgen’s speakers’ bureau and ensure they are updated on new data
  • Provide feedback based on field interactions and scientific support consistent with Amgen’s goals and objectives
  • Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers
  • Respond to investigator sponsored research proposals
  • Support Amgen sponsored research
  • Provide scientific support for commercial, corporate accounts, and matrix colleagues who forward HCP inquiries
  • Foster scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training
  • Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics
  • Mentor MSLs as designated by MSL leadership
  • Support the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and model Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes
  • Demonstrate tact and professionalism in communications and interactions
  • Model openness and innovation through words, actions, and decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctorate degree, or Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred; other doctoral degrees considered
  • 3 or more years of experience in a medically related field, including 1 or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research
  • Postdoctoral training, including residencies and/or fellowships, may count as medically related experience
  • Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company preferred
  • Oncology and/or Hematology therapeutic area expertise preferred
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana
  • Sponsorship for this role is not guaranteed
