About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the regional sales organization for UPLIZNA in Neurology (gMG and NMOSD)
- Translate brand strategy into focused regional execution and deliver results through a high-performing team
- Establish regional strategy, priorities, expectations and measurable execution standards
- Develop District Managers and field teams to execute with excellence
- Set performance expectations, use leading indicators to identify opportunities and risks, and drive accountability
- Coach and develop District Managers to strengthen leadership capability, business acumen, coaching quality, decision-making and representative performance
- Build and sustain a high-performing, inclusive and compliant culture
- Attract, select, onboard, retain and develop talent; maintain succession and bench plans
- Synthesize performance data, access dynamics, customer needs, competitive signals and field intelligence into decision-ready insights
- Maintain knowledge of gMG, NMOSD, UPLIZNA’s clinical profile, treatment landscape and market dynamics
- Build relationships with key customers and stakeholders and provide leadership at regional and national congresses, conferences and strategic engagements
- Orchestrate Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical, Training, Commercial Operations, HR and other partners around shared objectives
- Lead through change and keep teams focused, aligned and accountable
- Allocate regional resources, operating expenses and program investments to priority opportunities
- Ensure regional activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and Amgen compliance, ethics and safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctorate degree and 4 years of collective account management, sales, marketing and/or commercial experience OR Master’s degree and 8 years of collective account management, sales, marketing and/or commercial experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of collective account management, sales, marketing and/or commercial experience
- At least 4 years of experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects or programs, or directing the allocation of resources
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience
- 10+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical commercial experience
- Rare disease, neurology, specialty biologic and/or buy-and-bill experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success attracting and developing talent, building succession pipelines, creating healthy high-performance cultures and leading organizations through growth and change
- Ability to synthesize multiple data sources and market signals, diagnose business drivers and translate insights into focused regional strategy and resource decisions
- Ability to translate brand priorities into clear execution standards, leading indicators, operating rhythms and timely performance actions
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders at varying organizational levels
- Demonstrated enterprise mindset and ability to orchestrate cross-functional partners in a complex matrix environment
- Strong understanding of the U.S. pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Professional, proactive demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Requires approximately 60% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments
