About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and lead projects to ensure the field sales force operates at maximum efficiency
  • Support the Director / Associate Director in implementing field effectiveness strategies and initiatives for a business unit
  • Integrate and align field effectiveness initiatives across teams and cross-functional partners
  • Analyze and optimize business processes and use tools and techniques to manage sales force effectiveness
  • Identify sales fundamentals issues and opportunities and align on initiatives to improve sales productivity
  • Manage special projects including sales force sizing and structure, launch readiness, and pilot tests and learns
  • Develop and execute field effectiveness strategies and tactical plans
  • Collaborate with US Analytics, Reporting, and stakeholders to develop sales force metrics and dashboards
  • Assess field performance metrics to identify improvement areas
  • Lead cohesion team meetings across Operations, Incentive Compensation, Reporting, and CRM teams
  • Facilitate field force projects with regional leadership, including customer targeting, field reporting, field alerts/suggestions, omnichannel/digital, and field transformation
  • Monitor industry trends and marketplace developments
  • Work onsite 2 to 3 days a week at the Deerfield, Illinois or Thousand Oaks, California office
  • Report to the Associate Director, Field Effectiveness
  • Support the Rare Disease Business Unit

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales analytics, field effectiveness, management consulting, and/or commercial operations experience
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of sales analytics, field effectiveness, management consulting, and/or commercial operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of sales analytics, field effectiveness, management consulting, and/or commercial operations experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of sales analytics, field effectiveness, management consulting, and/or commercial operations experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of sales analytics, field effectiveness, management consulting, and/or commercial operations experience
  • 7+ years of experience in sales analytics, field effectiveness, or life sciences management consulting, and/or field sales within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • 2+ years of experience managing people and/or leading teams, projects, or programs
  • Ability to think creatively and with innovation to drive influence with sales leadership
  • Ability to translate business plans into objectives and align resourcing to achieve that plan
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose business issues and adjust strategies, plans, and tactics
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements to field operations processes
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for initiatives
  • Ability to clearly communicate the vision, goals, and progress of initiatives to stakeholders at all levels
