About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Planning and Scheduling function supporting Amgen’s capital project portfolio
  • Provide organizational leadership for planners and schedulers
  • Establish standardized planning processes, portfolio governance, and scheduling best practices
  • Support execution and reporting across multiple concurrent capital projects
  • Produce executive and network reporting performance dashboards
  • Develop integrative master schedules from planning through operational readiness and licensure
  • Establish staffing strategies and optimize resource allocation across projects
  • Champion digital planning solutions including Primavera P6, Planisware, AI-enabled planning tools, and reporting platforms
  • Partner with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, CQV, Finance, Manufacturing, Site Operations, and Regulatory organizations
  • Develop standard methodologies for earned value management and risk management
  • Lead planning governance across assigned projects
  • Mentor planners and project controls professionals
  • Manage contractor scheduling requirements and performance
  • Collate project-level schedule reporting into program-level reporting
  • Align project-level schedules with the Master Program Schedule
  • Provide data required for Earned Value Management
  • Perform impact analyses, schedule updates, forecasting, and predictability assessments
  • Oversee and guide project-level schedule consultants
  • Incorporate schedule Change Orders with Program Change Management
  • Lead implementation of AI-enabled planning tools
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives within Project Controls
  • Develop data-driven planning dashboards using Power BI and Planisware
  • Promote automation and predictive scheduling methodologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR Master’s degree and 4 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience
  • Experience in capital project delivery, managing Engineering or Construction in project controls across estimating, cost control, scheduling, and compliance
  • Expertise in planning and scheduling with proven leadership capabilities to execute capital construction projects
  • Experience managing integrated master schedules, developing planning standards, mentoring planning professionals, and leading cross-functional organizations
  • Effective communication, organizational leadership, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels
  • Expertise in Primavera P6
  • Experience with MS Project and Planner, Excel, Smart Planning, Smartsheets, and Power BI
