About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as liaison to customers by providing clinical knowledge of Amgen products to medical professionals
  • Act as primary customer contact
  • Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager
  • Communicate current and comprehensive clinical knowledge and clinical/economic product benefits to medical professionals
  • Deliver branded sales messages and implement planned programs
  • Schedule and follow up with medical educational programs
  • Achieve or exceed territory sales targets
  • Service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
  • Analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance
  • Develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Build product brand throughout the sales cycle while serving patients
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous learning
  • Monitor disease-state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Specialty Representative: Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
  • Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry preferred
  • Product or hospital sales experience in specified therapeutic areas preferred
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • Established relationships in the territory preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration preferred
  • Adaptability with Amgen's Core Competencies
  • Territory covers North Dakota and South Dakota
  • Relocation is not offered for this role
