About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy while promoting Amgen products as led by the District Manager
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization
- Achieve territory sales through branded sales messages, planned programs, medical educational programs, and in-person and virtual engagement
- Develop, service, and manage accounts by tailoring discussions and customer interactions to customer needs
- Ensure product access, resolve or triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy and analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance
- Develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow
- Build the brand throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient impact at the forefront
- Uphold Amgen values, quality, teamwork, collaboration, communication, and accountability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Specialty Representative: Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR high school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR high school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties
- Preferred: Local market knowledge
- Preferred: Established relationships in the territory
- Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
- Adaptability with Core Competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
