About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as liaison to customers by providing clinical knowledge of Amgen products to medical professionals
  • Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager
  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge and communicate clinical and economic product benefits
  • Deliver branded sales messages and implement planned programs
  • Schedule and follow up with medical educational programs
  • Achieve or exceed territory sales targets
  • Service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance
  • Develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Build the Amgen brand throughout the sales cycle while serving patients
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continue learning
  • Monitor disease-state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related
  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry
  • Product or hospital sales experience in specified specialty areas, including oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases
  • Knowledge of diseases and treatments involved with relevant specialties
  • Local market knowledge
  • Established relationships in the territory
  • Adaptability with Core Competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
  • Chinese language proficiency is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration is preferred
