About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Configure and administer resources on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including virtual machines, GKE, Cloud Run, and storage
  • Operate containerized applications by performing deployments, updates, configuration adjustments, and rollbacks
  • Configure and maintain networks, DNS, certificates, firewall rules, and connectivity between services
  • Administer access, permissions, service accounts, and secrets in accordance with security best practices
  • Monitor metrics, logs, and alerts, investigate infrastructure failures, and support incident response
  • Maintain build and deployment pipelines and automate operational routines
  • Monitor cloud environment usage and costs, identifying optimization opportunities
  • Oversee backup routines and perform restoration tests
  • Support Development teams with environment configuration and production issue investigation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS
  • Knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • Knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of IAM, service accounts, and credential and secret management
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or Sentry
  • Knowledge of automation using Bash or Python
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible
  • Knowledge of FinOps, resource sizing, and autoscaling
  • Experience with Linux hardening, private networks, and cloud access auditing
  • Experience working in e-commerce environments or high-traffic web services
