About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of production environments
- Continuously improve infrastructure, automation, observability, and deployment processes
- Prevent, respond to, and investigate incidents, including root-cause analysis and action plans
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to evolve application architecture, resilience, and operability
- Reduce manual work and toil through automation, Infrastructure as Code, and pipelines
- Support capacity planning, cost management, operational risk management, and continuity of cloud environments
- Identify recurring operational issues and turn them into automation and structural improvements
- Work autonomously in critical production environments, troubleshoot issues, lead incidents, and make technical decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior-level experience with strong AWS expertise
- AWS: solid experience in production and highly available environments
- Hands-on knowledge of EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPCs, subnets, security groups, route tables, NAT Gateways, and load balancers
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
- Strong foundation in Linux, networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with containers, Docker, and orchestrated environments
- CI/CD: experience with pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
- Knowledge of deployment strategies such as Blue/Green, Canary, and rollback
- Experience with observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, dashboards, and alerts
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, IAM, and access management
- Availability to participate in on-call rotations during one Saturday per month
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience
