About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise on the development potential of land and buildings
  • Assist with preparing planning applications and appeals
  • Provide policy advice and research to formulate planning strategies
  • Draft representations to plan consultations and examinations
  • Work with clients and other consultants to deliver development
  • Support business development activities
  • Lead projects and build client relationships
  • Manage schemes from initial advice and strategy through planning permission, conditions and planning obligations
  • Represent clients at local plan examinations and appeals
  • Collaborate with colleagues across development economics, design, heritage and transport
  • Help drive projects and support business development activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant Planning qualification
  • Membership of the RTPI or working towards membership
  • Solid understanding of planning processes and systems
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner
  • Drive, commitment, enthusiasm and a team player approach
  • Experience within the region
  • Experienced planning professional suitable for Senior Planner, Associate or Associate Director level
  • Employment subject to a variety of checks after an offer is accepted
