About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting
  • Collect and analyze data for mapping and reporting
  • Design open and closed drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, and erosion and sediment controls
  • Assist in preparing engineering documents, including plans, reports, cost estimates, and specifications, for advertisement and construction
  • Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
  • Perform stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics, erosion and sediment controls, and other water resources engineering design tasks
  • Support projects in the assigned office and potentially contribute to projects involving other AMT offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling (drainage, SWM, floodplain) with commonly used software
  • Design knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Position starts in May 2027 upon graduation
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam preferred
