About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as lead technical role on bridge and structural design projects
  • Plan, direct, and monitor mid-to-large multidisciplinary projects or technically complex medium-sized bridge projects
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contractual document work sessions
  • Ensure project deliverables and supporting documentation are complete and compliant with applicable standards and client and AMT requirements
  • Coordinate staffing and workload throughout project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager and Discipline/Managing Director on project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and review bridge plans
  • Execute training and development for personnel
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced Project Managers
  • Maintain professional engineering registration
  • Lead design of highway and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, load ratings, and related structures
  • Support structural transportation projects for state DOTs, counties, municipalities, and private clients
  • Collaborate across offices on projects in other states

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
  • 15+ years of project and client management experience with significant project experience and client contacts
  • MS Office experience
  • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills
  • Good communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to perform hands-on bridge condition inspection and comfort with heights
  • Desired proficiency in LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LARSA 4D, LPile, MDX, Descus, AASHTOWare BrR, Merlin DASH, spColumn, PennDOT software packages, Bentley MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads/Bridge software
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required, including occasional weekly travel
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment post-offer background check
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and navigate unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment
  • Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather during field work
