About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, and debug embedded software and firmware components under the guidance of experienced engineers
- Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
- Assist in integrating software with hardware systems and embedded platforms
- Support software verification, validation, and troubleshooting throughout the development cycle
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, applications, and product engineering teams
- Contribute to technical documentation, software design discussions, and code reviews
- Apply software engineering principles and development best practices to assigned tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of software development fundamentals and programming concepts
- Experience with C and/or C++ programming through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience
- Understanding of embedded systems concepts, microcontrollers, or hardware-software interaction
- Familiarity with debugging tools and problem-solving techniques
- Exposure to version control systems such as Git or similar tools
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, firmware development, or related engineering disciplines (preferred)
- Exposure to firmware, embedded software, or low-level programming projects
- Familiarity with software testing, validation, or debugging methodologies
- Experience working with embedded development tools, IDEs, or compilers
- Academic, internship, or personal project experience involving embedded systems, electronics, or software-hardware integration
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting
- For positions requiring access to technical data, applicants except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals may have to go through an export licensing review process
