About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop a small analog design team
  • Own delivery of analog and mixed-signal IP for Digital Business Unit SoCs from architecture through production release
  • Direct design of oscillators, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, clock-generation circuits, power-management blocks, monitors, biasing, reset, and low-power control circuitry
  • Drive system-level architecture and partitioning across analog and digital boundaries
  • Establish design and review practices for specifications, modeling, simulation, layout, verification, and signoff
  • Partner with digital design, verification, physical design, systems, product, test, applications, process, packaging, and firmware teams
  • Lead low-power design strategy
  • Manage execution across multiple projects and IP developments
  • Guide IP reuse and methodology improvement
  • Support silicon validation and production through root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • Influence product and technology roadmaps
  • Build organizational capability through hiring, performance management, succession planning, mentoring, and use of internal and external design resources
  • Travel 10% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and retaining a small team of analog or mixed-signal IC designers
  • Deep knowledge of transistor-level design and mixed-signal integration in CMOS SoCs
  • Expertise in several areas including oscillators, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, clocking, references, regulators, power management, and low-power circuitry
  • Ability to translate product requirements into analog specifications and partition functions across analog, digital, firmware, and test domains
  • Strong understanding of power domains, sequencing, retention, power gating, standby and wake-up behavior, leakage reduction, and mixed-signal operation across dynamic supply conditions
  • Mastery of SPICE-based simulation, statistical and corner analysis, noise and stability analysis, extraction, layout review, DRC/LVS, reliability, and design-for-test considerations
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver multiple IP and SoC programs
  • Ability to align cross-functional engineering teams
  • Track record of leading bring-up, characterization, yield improvement, failure analysis, and complex technical issue resolution through production
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Typically 15+ years of relevant analog IC design experience, including substantial CMOS SoC development
  • Prior direct people-management experience leading a small analog design team
  • Experience delivering complex analog or mixed-signal products through tape-out, silicon validation, qualification, and high-volume production
  • Experience with analog/digital interface definition, behavioral modeling, mixed-signal verification, physical-design collaboration, and top-level SoC integration
  • Evidence of technical innovation through successful products, reusable IP, patents, publications, or recognized contributions
