About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement capabilities supporting the intake, analysis, processing, management, and visualization of digital evidence
Develop custom software components, data processing pipelines, and analytical modules for digital evidence handling
Improve digital evidence data management, analytical efficiency, automation, and exploitation performance through integrations and development
Provide technical documentation, configuration support, and knowledge transfer
Collaborate with product and data teams to align solutions with mission requirements, use cases, and end-user experience goals
Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups
Assist with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Contribute to containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
Design and develop APIs, UIs, data management services, and analytical tools for a digital evidence management system

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of professional experience in software engineering roles
Proficiency in Java, JavaScript and SQL
Proficiency in Java Spring and ReactJS
Solid understanding of relational database design and experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server
Experience with shell scripting such as Bash
Proven ability to analyze and work with structured and unstructured data
Strong technical and computational skills, with the ability to relate data to business or mission objectives and user needs
Experience with DevOps tools and workflows, particularly using GitLab
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Containerd, Kubernetes, etc.)
Top Secret clearance or High Risk Public Trust Suitability
Required to pass a high-risk public trust background investigation
Preferred: Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform and Ansible
Preferred: Experience with Observability concepts and tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Tempo
Preferred: Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Nutanix
Preferred: Experience designing or supporting multi-tenant architectures
Preferred: Experience with Identity and Access Management systems such as Keycloak
Preferred: Experience with data query, visualization, and search tools such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Metabase, or Trino
