About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct desk-based analyses of construction budgets, project feasibility, and borrower execution capabilities for renovations and luxury ground-up construction
- Evaluate plans, specifications, and permits against financial and operational objectives
- Prepare detailed reports from analyses and inspections for underwriting, valuation, and processing teams
- Communicate critical findings and potential risks identified during reviews or field inspections
- Collaborate with valuation, underwriting, and processing teams to support construction-loan approval and funding
- Ensure projects comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards
- Stay current on construction-underwriting best practices and regulatory changes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field; experience in the field in lieu of a degree suitable
- 3-5 years of experience in construction or a related field, with a significant portion in desk-based analysis
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, focused on financial and project feasibility analysis
- Proficient in interpreting construction documents, budgets, and legal permits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of producing detailed reports and presenting findings clearly
- Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work and compliance
