About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare work papers and perform tax research
- Analyze tax notices and draft responses
- Assist with tax planning and preparation of projections
- Process client payroll
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and assist clients with monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and assist clients with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare clients' year-end trial balances
- Prepare compiled financial statements and budgeting reports
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and the chart of accounts
- Prepare and review client sales tax returns
- Prepare and review client annual 1099 informational returns
- Process live client payroll accurately and timely
- Prepare and review personal property declarations
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and controls over accounting transactions
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services to individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profits
- Research tax topics of intermediate complexity
- Assist in training and developing Business Accounting staff
- Help develop, build, and manage client relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong organization skills
- Detail-oriented with QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience with Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms is a plus
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Familiarity with cloud-based software applications
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- 6–8 years relevant experience
- CPA is a plus
- Authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without requiring sponsorship
