About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting function for selected clients
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Process client payroll
  • Assist clients with routine accounting functions
  • Assess client systems and processes for streamlining and automation opportunities
  • Prepare and assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare clients’ year-end trial balances
  • Prepare compiled financial statements and budgeting reports
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and charts of accounts
  • Prepare client sales tax returns
  • Process live client payroll accurately and timely
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end client payroll tax returns
  • Prepare annual client 1099 informational returns
  • Prepare personal property declarations
  • Maintain orderly accounting filing systems and controls over accounting transactions
  • Provide tax compliance and consulting services to individuals, partnerships, and corporations
  • Research tax topics of intermediate complexity
  • Assist in managing and developing professional tax staff
  • Develop, build, and manage client relationships
  • Travel onsite to local clients as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong client service skills and ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong organization skills
  • Detail-oriented with QuickBooks Online experience
  • Experience with Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar general ledger platforms is a plus
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software applications
  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • CPA is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without requiring sponsorship
